Hi Friends,
I think lighting design is my kryptonite. It feels like I’ve been on every lighting website imaginable in the last few weeks picking out lights for our bathroom, hallway, laundry and bedroom. With the exception of the bathroom, all the lights I was looking for are flush mount lights, which just means they sit close to the ceiling.
Let me tell you, I had high standards for these lights. I like statement lighting, but I don’t like the price tag that often comes with it. I also had to be particular about dimensions as we only have 8 foot ceilings and limited side to side space in the hallway and laundry. So many lights now are also built-in LED so there’s the brightness factor to consider (lumens) and then the built in lighting temperature (how many kelvins). At the end of the the day it’s just a lot to sift through.
I also married someone who’s not a fan of sputnik lighting, or simple mid century style lighting which is what I naturally gravitate towards. So throw that in the mix and you get…hours of lighting research to pick out 5 lights. If you’re looking for a good flush mount, I’m rounding up some of my favorite finds! Most under $350, even one under $100. 😱 And I included the ones I picked for our spaces too!
